Staying Positive in a Time of Crisis
April 6, 2020
No doubt about it, we are in a very real crisis. But I would like to take a moment to see if we can see anything good coming out of this.
Con: The travel industry has been hit especially hard. People are confined to home and canceling the travel plans they made earlier.
Pro: We will come out of this. When we do come out of this, people are going to want to get out and away from home. IMHO, hotels/resorts are still going to be an iffy proposition since there is a lot of close contact. That means that RV parks/resorts/campgrounds are going to be looking inviting.
Con: The economy has dropped precipitously, which means that RV parks/resorts/campgrounds have lost a lot of money. RVers are going to be on a much tighter budget for the rest of the year.
Pro: As a first recovering industry, the length of time before reservations start coming in is going to be shorter than it will for the rest of the travel industry. People will be able to get out, enjoy getting away from home without spending the amounts of money needed to go to hotels/resorts.
Con: People have been unable to go to the office since most of us have been under a “Stay At Home” order.
Pro: With decent Wi Fi in your park/resort/campground or good cell reception, families are going to be able to get away for longer periods of time since people will be able to work from their RVs.
Taking that step back to look at the overall situation may just give you a little more to be positive about.
How are you staying positive?
